Microsoft Foundry Local is now generally available as an end-to-end local AI solution that enables developers to bring AI inference directly into their applications with no cloud dependency, no network latency, and no per-token costs. It provides an easy-to-use SDK (C#, JavaScript, Rust, and Python), a curated catalog of optimized models, and automatic hardware acceleration — all in a lightweight package , with cross-platform support for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon), and Linux x64. Foundry Local is small enough to bundle directly inside an application installer without meaningfully impacting download size, allowing developers to ship a fully self-contained AI-powered app the same way they would ship any other desktop or edge application.
