Hey everyone, Like a lot of people here, I’ve been experimenting with running models locally through Ollama. Athena started as a small experiment, but it quickly grew into something more, a modular Python project for exploring what needs to exist around an LLM to make it useful beyond chat. So far I’ve been adding things like: Ollama support, with Gemini/OpenRouter as optional cloud backends, a simple agent loop and tool execution, local document ingestion, memory, web access and permission guardrails. It’s still an experiment, not a production-ready platform, but it’s become a useful sandbox for learning about local agent workflows. If anyone wants to check it out, run it, or pick it apart: GitHub: github.com/theo79/Athena Any feedback, ideas, or criticism is welcome, especially from people experimenting with local agents and Ollama. submitted by /u/ping_fade [link] [comments]
