Imagine deciding that the best way to judge art and human expression isn’t by the quality of the work, the strength of the vision, or the intent of the artist, but by some arbitrary, made-up rulebook you’ve decided is objectively correct. I’m sure that will age beautifully. For a second, I thought this was a headline from The Onion. Made-up certifications are weak signals. They don’t say, “This person has taste, judgment, or expertise.” They say, “This person wanted a badge and if you pay me I'll give you a stamp". performative authority, what happens when people get so attached to their own narratives that they confuse fiction for reality.
