Last I checked, the @llama_index OSS framework integrates with 78 (!!) vector stores. Investors (and builders starting out, and honestly me for a while) deemed this space as commoditized. One of the lessons I've learned that's especially relevant here is that in a commoditized market, regardless of initial distribution, the best product will still win. It takes a certain level of obsessive focus, a contrarian bet on technology (optimizing cost through object storage) to pull this off, but this is a great example that it can absolutely be done. Huge congrats to @turbopuffer 🫡 big inspiration for us on our own parsing product turbopuffer crossed 100M run-rate in March. 19mo after 1M. Profitable & <$1M raised.
