Model Risk Governance Is Not the Same as Risk Intelligence

Model risk governance and risk intelligence are distinct but complementary practices in machine learning operations. Model risk governance focuses on establishing policies, controls, and compliance frameworks to manage the risks associated with deploying AI/ML models, while risk intelligence involves the analytical capabilities and tools needed to continuously monitor, detect, and understand emerging risks in production models. Organizations require both to effectively manage model performance, regulatory compliance, and business impact in their ML systems.
