Tencent HY-World 2.0 is an open-source AI world model that generates real 3D scenes directly usable in game engines like Unreal Engine and Unity; unlike previous versions which produced video-based world representations, v2.0 outputs fully editable 3D content from text or image inputs. It produces editable, persistent 3D assets — including meshes and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) representations — importable into tools like Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, and Isaac Sim, making it more akin to building a playable game than generating a video clip. The model also supports first-person navigation and third-person character mode, enabling users to freely explore AI-generated environments with physics-based collision.
