AI is jagged, but I think sometimes it is easy to overly focus on that. The generalness is a surprise too! LLMs may be optimized for verifiable fields like coding, but AI is also not bad at corporate

And all the evidence is is that is that models are getting better all this other stuff at the same time as they are improving in coding. More recent models are more creative, for example. Still plenty

Anyhow, its not bad. Just not the vibe level that the benchmarks might indicate. And, for a first re-entry into the frontier model space, given the engineering efficiencies they achieved, it feels lik

One fun thing about AI is that it lets you play with interfaces and approaches to displaying information in new ways without a lot of effort. I got a an internet connected e-ink display and set it up

There are more competitive small model makers, but there is still a very big gap between what small models can do and what large models can accomplish (even if the small model benchmarks say otherwise

we got LangPod before GTA6 🙏 this series is gonna be sick - real stuff that breaks with agents, mental models, evals, tooling with some of the best builders across industry great to openly share all t

Yesterday’s Mythos announcement from Anthropic was overblown. • Sandboxing was turned off, so test didn’t show much about the real world. • Cheap open-weight models can (already) do some similar stuff

Hallucinations remain in LLMs, but note that over centuries we have developed complicated, successful machines that take uncertain output from unreliable sources & reduce the risk of errors. We call t

I think the most obvious is that Meta has its own frontier model and can use that to extract additional value out of its customer base/explore new markets for its products. Very few companies can say

I think the story that was shared in the Mythos System Card still has the signs of flawed LLM writing (which looks like good writing at first glance): A story that doesn't really hold together logical

In different hands, Mythos would be an unprecedented cyberweapon I am not sure how we deal with this, except to note a narrow window where we know only 3 companies could be at this level of capability

It is easy to be fooled that there is meaning here, but that is because you are trained to provide the meaning. Think of the characters. Think of the emotional arc. Think of the unsaid stuff you need

On Mythos: I know it feels utterly wrong and bad to say it's better/safer if this capability was widely available and e.g. open sourced, but it actually might be. Anthropic could now be sitting on so

Seems like a good model from Meta that is still trailing the current series of releases. The most important thing to note is that it is not open weights. That was the main reason that Meta's models we

Some approaches: 1) Multiple reviews. Some papers already show having many AI team members review a problem reduces errors 2) Building in tests and checkpoints 3) Multiple independent answers that are

GLM 5.1 is live on Fireworks! SOTA for agents and coding: →Plans and executes multi-hour workflows without falling apart →Planning, executing, testing, and refining over hundreds of rounds to deliver

I was told about the Mythos release, but didn't have access, so have no personal experience to add. Two points from brief: 1) It is not built for IT security, it is just a good enough model that it is

Let’s deep dive into GLM model improvement by @Zai_org over the past 3 generations: 5.1, 5 and 4.7. GLM-5 was an improvement over 4.7 in similar ways, but 5.1 appears as a more rounded model with a fe
