We are leaving the Old Code Age, the Paleocodic, the artisinal code era, where if you needed a novel program, you would commission a local codesmith or code guild to hand-craft a work of code for you,

Ethan Mollick reflects on how future generations will be amazed at the complexity and scale of work humans accomplished using only traditional keyboards and interfaces, before presumably more advanced

What if the model is the router? I think people underestimate the ability of frontier models now, but especially in the near future, to delegate work on their own as needed to dumber, cheaper models.

Happy 4th of July everyone. I came here as a kid at 9 years old, not knowing a single word of english, lived on food stamps in section 8 housing. My parents cleaned houses while my sister and I collec

I kept asking Claude Fable to make the game 'more AAA' over and over again. The results are... interesting. In Claude's view, this meant upgrading graphics, boss fights, mechanics adding custom sounds

I never touched any tool or anything, all designs & prompts were the AI's choices. I pushed back a couple times: 'Are there ways to make the whole thing better - it is lots of static images and such?

This is true… but maybe less important than the fact that people don’t try ambitious things with these systems. Many models are excellent as a Google replacement, for homework “help,” etc. It is someo

AI implementation advice on my X feed is divided between those who 'feel the exponential' and those whose (unconscious?) mental model of AI is that this is about as good as it is going to get, so it i

Been reading all sorts of posts about the best ways to develop workflows for Fable and it reminds me of how little we actually know about the best ways to organize work for long-running agents. Nobody

An AI system successfully created a functional demo game while reducing development costs, and is now advancing to develop an original first-person shooter concept with WebGL compatibility for browser

This post critiques Fable AI's text generation style, suggesting it produces overly verbose or exaggerated outputs that parody Claude's characteristic writing patterns taken to an extreme. The comment

Continual learning is probably the biggest barrier to explosive AI adoption (& may have big implications for recursive self-improvement as well) As long as you deal with amnesiac models that require h

This post likely discusses the practice of knuckle cracking, possibly exploring whether it causes joint damage, what causes the popping sound, or related hand health topics. Given Mollick's expertise

My one serious piece of advice having used Fable a bunch before release is that, unless you are careful it develops its own internal bizarre cadence & dialogue over long tasks. If you aren't asking it

The talk about Mythos and cybersecurity was not, in fact, hype. (As anyone using Fable to do autonomous work has probably recognized) AI appears to be finding software vulnerabilities at scale. In Jun

Formal organizational structures are a useful way to think about the challenges of agents. They provide a template to thinking about how work gets delegated up and down between smart expensive agents

Ethan Mollick predicts that multi-agent organizational structures will deliver better cost-to-performance ratios compared to simple task-based routing systems for AI applications. This suggests that m

Since its back, here were my impressions I posted a couple weeks ago of Fable after my time as an early access user (yes, it really is very impressive, but that shows off best in longer, harder tasks)

The discussion here on AI futures can be a little too credulous of company visions. People tend to push what they have. The three big AI labs will say bigger models are the future. Every other firm ha

Yes! Pre-classifying routers are going to result in a lot of bad work because routing is hard and tend to underestimate the value of intelligence on many problems. OpenAI learned this with GPT-5, now

You really need to benchmark models for your use case. As soon as judgements & decisions stack on top of each other, the differences between models amplifies, and no standard benchmark will tell you t
