Absolutely right Gary. LLMs simply don't understand causality at the level needed to make truly data driven decisions. My work combines Causal AI (using Pearl's Causal Calculus), knowledge graphs, LLMs, agents, business rules and deterministic code. Use the right form of AI (or no AI) for each part of the problem. This book — Judea Pearl’s The Book of Why — remains incredibly relevant. Anyone who thinks his challenges have been properly solved within the current paradigm is kidding themselves.
