NVIDIA released PhysicsNeMo, an open-source AI framework designed to speed up nuclear reactor design through physics-based simulations. The framework uses machine learning-based multiphysics emulators that can quickly and reliably sample thousands of candidate designs with errors as low as a few percent. The technology is being applied across the full nuclear lifecycle including reactor design, licensing, construction, and daily operations, with the goal of deploying reactors in years instead of decades.
