ChatGPT’s biggest memory upgrade starts rolling out.

OpenAI announced a new memory architecture built on its "dreaming" background process that improves ChatGPT's ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. The system improves factual recall from 67.9% to 82.8%, preference adherence from 55.3% to 71.3%, and accuracy over time from 52.2% to 75.1%. The upgrade is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting now, with broader rollout to Free and Go users coming in the following weeks.
