Course correction: Google to link more sources in AI Overviews

Google is rolling out updates to AI Overviews and AI Mode that include more direct links within responses and previews of websites to help users find trusted sources and original content more easily. The five changes include suggested next-step angles at the end of responses, easier access to news subscriptions, richer attribution for social and discussion sources, more links placed directly next to relevant text, and hover previews for inline links on desktop. Google is attempting to make source links more visible, easier to understand, and more useful when users are reading AI responses.
