NVIDIA has released its cuObject client and server libraries, providing RDMA‑based APIs that allow GPUs to access object storage directly without routing data through the host CPU. The xio‑sig consortium now includes cuObject alongside cuFile, with Google Cloud evaluating participation and Microsoft planning to join the board to enhance I/O interoperability. NVIDIA’s new SCADA Server SDK lets storage systems respond to GPU‑initiated requests from SCADA clients; IBM Storage has shown a prototype that integrates SCADA with its Storage Scale platform, while the broader Storage‑Next initiative coordinates over 40 stakeholders to set open industry standards for fine‑grained GPU‑driven storage access.
