Hi everyone! So far in 2026 I have been iterating and evolving a research system I designed to help me sift through things that LLMs all agree on that may not be correct, and to give me actual confidence values in the output so I am not falling down endless rabbit holes that are hallucinations. This research system is called HIVE, or the Hive Inspired Virtual Entity. https://github.com/Chubby-Honey-Bee/hive When you ask a question, nine foragers reach out and look at the question from different angles such as risk, evidence, history, ethics, and all of these see each others work and are fully configurable. A queen writes one verdict and says how strongly they agree. Shared memory (the comb) handles all of the findings, which later runs then build on, and guard bees prevent any guarantee slipping on when it is actually an unknown or an assumption. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: If the question has only one right answer, do NOT use this system, and instead just ask an LLM directly. This system is built to sift through ambiguity and conflicting information, leaning on verified whitepapers via unpaywall and DOI search for establishing honesty and guarantees. To run it locally: ollama pull qwen3.6:35b-a3b-q4_K_M chb ask "your question" --profile local-fast Smaller models are not quite as reliable yet for the whole chain of command and flow with the tool calls, but I am working on that now. 4b and 8b models, specifically, are a bit rough. This was designed, built, and tested on an M1 Max with 64gb of RAM. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this! submitted by /u/BeesAndBytes [link] [comments]
