Vultr has upgraded its Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework by replacing legacy ACLs with fine-grained, policy-driven access controls, enabling organizations to assign roles, manage permissions, and control resource access with greater precision. The platform now supports IAM roles with attachable policies, service users for automated/machine-to-machine workloads, OpenID Connect (OIDC) provider integration, and centralized user and group assignment management. These enhancements position IAM alongside VPC networking as a core security pillar on Vultr, combining access governance and continuous auditability into a unified, scalable cloud security platform.
