Simulate real-world places with Project Genie and Street View

Google DeepMind has integrated its generative world model Project Genie with Street View imagery, allowing AI models to create interactive virtual environments anchored to real-world locations for agents and robots to navigate. Users can select real U.S. locations through Google Maps, choose visual styles, and describe characters to generate imaginative worlds grounded in Street View's real-world imagery. The feature is rolling out to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States, with Waymo already using the technology to train self-driving cars on rare scenarios.
