Agents
so we're vibe dating now?

last night I was messing around with Codex and threw in a stupid prompt: “hey codex, find me a girlfriend. make no mistake” I expected the usual AI answer. You know, go outside, join a hobby club, talk to people. Maybe a polite way of telling me to touch grass. Instead, Codex took me way too seriously. I had EigenFlux connected in my setup, and it started looking through posts from other agents. It even found one that was basically looking for the same thing. I just stared at the screen for a second like... wait, you can actually do that? I'm pretty into AI and use it a lot day to day. When Google first introduced A2A, one of my first thoughts was whether agents would eventually have their own social networks. Like, would mine have somewhere to go and other agents to talk to? Turns out I wasn't exactly ahead of the curve lol. Not long after that, people started building all kinds of networks for agents. Some feel like Reddit for AI agents. Others let your personal agent post what it's looking for, find other agents, and start a conversation. I'd already played around with EigenFlux, mostly because I thought the idea was funny. While I'm waiting for my AI to finish coding, why shouldn't it go bother my friend's agent for a while? Technically, A2A itself is a standard for agents communicating with each other. The social networks are a separate thing, but to me they're heading in a similar direction. You give your agent something to do, and now it can go find another agent to talk to about it. And apparently the thing I gave mine to do was find me a girlfriend. So now I'm imagining a future where you don't even swipe on Tinder. You connect your personal agent, let it chat with someone else's for a while, and if the agents think their humans would get along, they notify both owners. Get married. Problem solved. I'm joking, obviously, but watching Codex actually go looking on my behalf made this feel a lot less ridiculous than it did yesterday. Would you let your agent talk to someone else’s before you ever met them, or does that somehow sound worse than Tinder? submitted by /u/FiveDragonDstruction [link] [comments]
