Someone just asked me “What I don’t get is why you see it as some kind of failure that AI labs are now using harnesses and neurosymbolic tools…?” I don’t! As I argued in my newsletter on Claude Code (entitled “The biggest advance in AI since the LLM”) and in earlier piece o3 and grok 4, I see this trend as absolute vindication for what I have been arguing for the last 30 years - that neurosymbolic tools have to be part of the solution. People will soon forget that they ever argued otherwise, but they did, right here, for a decade. 🤷‍♂️
