The fact that SpaceX is leasing excess capacity means that space based data centers aren't needed and will never ever be economically viable. Yet when I read the IPO documents these "orbital data centers" are a central to the IPO. Supposedly to begin deployment by 2028. Why would they build capacity in space when they can't even use the capacity they built on earth? Nobody but me seems to have linked these things together for the con that both are.
