Tejas Kumar ( a keynote speaker and developer with 20+ years of engineering experience across AI and web technologies ) presented on AI Harnesses at the AI Engineer Europe conference (April 8–10, 2026, London), which covered topics including Harness Engineering, Context Engineering, Evals & Observability, and Voice & Vision. Harness engineering is the discipline of designing the systems, constraints, and feedback loops that wrap around AI agents to make them reliable in production — not the agent itself, but the complete infrastructure governing how it operates, including tools, guardrails, feedback loops, and observability. The term "harness" has emerged as shorthand for everything in an AI agent except the model itself — expressed as: Agent = Model + Harness.
