Leaked code strings discovered on April 7, 2026, by dataminer Gabe Follower in a Steam VR Beta update reveal references to an internal Valve AI system called "SteamGPT," which appears designed to use AI to automatically handle customer support tickets and connect to CS2's anti-cheat infrastructure via references to "PlayerEvaluation" and "CSBot," suggesting it would complement rather than replace VACnet. A service called "SteamGPTSummary" appears to access profile info, Steam Guard status, security history, VAC status, phone data, fraud flags, and playtime to inform player trust evaluations. Nothing in the leaked code indicates SteamGPT would issue bans directly; it appears intended to assist with player evaluation and support ticket processing, likely alongside human review — though the code strings were removed shortly after being discovered, and Valve has not confirmed the tool exists or is in active development.
