Anthropic's Frontier Red Team report (April 2026) details the cybersecurity capabilities of Claude Mythos Preview, a general-purpose frontier model that performs strongly across the board but is strikingly capable at computer security tasks, prompting the launch of Project Glasswing to help secure critical software worldwide. Over a matter of weeks, the model identified thousands of previously unknown zero-day vulnerabilities, many of them critical, in every major operating system and web browser. Using an agentic scaffold with Claude Code, the model autonomously reads code to hypothesize vulnerabilities, runs experiments, and outputs bug reports with proof-of-concept exploits — and because of its alarming offensive potential, Anthropic decided not to make Mythos Preview generally available, instead deploying it within a limited defensive cybersecurity partnership program.
