An expedition used a remote operated vehicle to capture the first images of Quest, the sunken ship of Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton, at 400 metres below the Labrador Sea on July 7, 2026. The vessel sank in 1962 after ice crushed the hull. The wreck has become an oasis of marine life and shows evidence of destructive impact from bottom trawling.
