OpenAI's Codex App (available at chatgpt.com/codex) is a dedicated command center for agentic coding, enabling developers to manage multiple AI coding agents working in parallel across projects. The app changes how software gets built and who can build it — from pairing with a single coding agent on targeted edits to supervising coordinated teams of agents across the full lifecycle of designing, building, shipping, and maintaining software. The Codex app launched initially on macOS, accessible to anyone with a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu subscription using their ChatGPT login. It supports cross-surface continuity via Skills and Automations, and is powered by OpenAI's frontier coding models — most recently GPT‑5.3‑Codex, the most capable agentic coding model to date, which advances both frontier coding performance and reasoning capabilities while running 25% faster.
