OpenAI Codex CLI is an open-source, terminal-based coding agent built in Rust that can read, modify, and execute code locally within a selected directory. It is included with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise plans, and can be authenticated via a ChatGPT account or API key. The CLI is natively supported on macOS and Linux, with experimental Windows support available through a WSL workspace.
