People are wasting their AI subscriptions. They don’t realize how powerful AI can be in achieving their own goals. They’re asking AI to reply to emails with zero goals in mind and nothing laddering up to “the big picture”. I was that kid where if my parents asked me to clean my room, I wouldn’t do it. They could tell me royalty was coming over, and I still wouldn’t do it. But if they said, “Bet you can’t clean your room in the next 5 minutes!”, that place would be spotless. When things are gamified and it becomes a personal challenge against myself, I am bought IN. I use that trick with AI today. Anything that feels tedious but really gets me closer to achieving my goals, I just make Claude build me a gaming interface to get it done. Oh you have to provide feedback on roundtable interview questions? Great. The interface is gray with canons and arrows as decoration. A knight is in the background, riding toward a castle to save his horse’s best donkey friend. Every question you fix and/or approve, the knight gets closer to the donkey. If you finish in under 6 minutes, the donkey is saved. And if you complete it this week instead of next week, he can save 100 donkeys. Hack your brain with AI. Consider the actual way you’ve been motivated in the past (yes, even if it’s insane to admit) and ask Claude/Codex to reorient its own work toward that motivation style.
