NVIDIA FLARE separates persistent federation services from dynamically launched job workers, allowing each participating site to deploy federated learning jobs on Docker, Kubernetes, or Slurm without tying up GPUs during initialization.
Its two‑layer architecture lets parent processes remain idle while worker nodes request portable resources—GPUs, CPU units, memory—and enforces logical multi‑tenant boundaries so that studies can be mapped to local datasets, secrets and scheduling policies.
Version 2.8 added Docker/Kubernetes support; version 2.9 introduced Slurm integration for HPC and shared GPU clusters.
