A U.S. Army Special Forces soldier was charged with using classified information about the military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to win more than $400,000 in bets on the Polymarket prediction market. Gannon Ken Van Dyke wagered approximately $33,000 across 13 bets in the week before the operation, with knowledge of the classified military plans, earning nearly $410,000 in profits. After his bets paid off, Van Dyke transferred most winnings to a foreign cryptocurrency vault and allegedly attempted to conceal his identity by requesting account deletion from Polymarket.
