A Politico European Pulse poll conducted March 13–21, 2026, surveyed at least 1,000 adults each in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain. It found that 46% of Italians, 42% of Belgians, 37% of French, and 30% of Germans consider the United States a threat. Across all six countries, an average of 36% viewed the U.S. as a threat — surpassing the 29% who said the same about China — while Russia remained the top concern at 70%.
