A new US military wargame series began by simulating a nuclear weapon in orbit

U.S. Space Command concluded its "Apollo Insight" wargame in March 2026, with Russia's alleged nuclear anti-satellite capability as the focus scenario. Over 60 defense contractors, government agencies, and allied nations participated in the exercise, which simulated a Russian nuclear detonation in low Earth orbit. Apollo Insight is the first of four planned wargames scheduled for 2026, with subsequent exercises addressing orbital maneuver warfare, proliferated constellations, and Arctic missile defense.
