Amazon devices chief says a new smartphone is “just not the goal”

Amazon devices chief Panos Panay stated the company is "not necessarily going after a phone," after reports emerged of an AI-powered device codenamed Transformer. Panay acknowledged that mobile technology is changing and new AI-powered form factors could blur what counts as a phone. This comes over a decade after Amazon's Fire Phone flopped in 2014.
