Five years later, Windows 11 brings back much-missed taskbar options (and more)

Microsoft has introduced the ability to move the taskbar to any screen edge and added a smaller taskbar option in Windows 11, features previously removed at the OS's 2021 launch. The company also plans to enable different taskbar positions per monitor and add new Start menu features. These taskbar options are currently available in experimental builds and are expected to reach the stable release channel by late 2026.
