Hackers duped Meta AI support chatbot to steal celebrity Instagram accounts

Hackers exploited Meta's AI support chatbot to break into high-profile Instagram accounts by requesting the bot change associated email addresses. Compromised accounts included those of the Obama-era White House and U.S. Space Force's chief master sergeant. The attack used VPN spoofing to match victims' locations and required no access to legitimate email accounts.
