IoT gadget maker AcuRite shares reasoning for killing customers’ favorite app

AcuRite is discontinuing its My AcuRite app, citing obsolete technology and the unsustainability of maintaining two separate apps. The company stated that ongoing maintenance, security updates, and compatibility work for the older app are no longer feasible as phone and operating system standards evolve. Users are being directed to migrate to AcuRite NOW before May 30th, 2026.
