A Manhattan federal jury found on April 15, 2026, that Live Nation and its subsidiary Ticketmaster illegally maintained monopoly power in the ticketing market , following a lawsuit brought by over 30 U.S. states after the DOJ settled its own claims earlier in the trial. The jury found that Ticketmaster overcharged concertgoers by $1.72 per ticket at "major concert venues" as a result of its anticompetitive behavior. The ruling has major implications across the live music business, as a judge will now decide on remedies, which could include a breakup of Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
