Letta builds stateful agents with persistent memory and identity. Its August 2026 announcement describes a TypeScript Agents SDK for multi-agent and multi-user applications. Letta says the same SDK interface works with Letta Cloud, a self-hosted App Server, or a local backend, and that an agent can retain memory and state when working across machines.

This is Letta's own product description, not an independent comparison. The SDK's backend options do not establish that every hosting arrangement has identical features or data controls. Check current Letta documentation for the deployment mode and memory behaviour relevant to a project.

For different memory-layer approaches, see mem0, zep, and engram-memory-by-weaviate.
