A person infected with measles traveled through Boise Airport between 1:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. on March 29, 2026 , prompting Idaho health officials to issue a public exposure warning. Idaho has the lowest measles vaccine coverage rate in the nation at 78.5% — well below the 95% threshold needed for herd immunity — and the state had already reported 23 measles cases across six counties since August 2025, all involving patients who were unvaccinated or of unknown vaccination status.
