NVIDIA Video Codec SDK 13.1 adds AV1 hierarchical reference mode supporting up to 31 B‑frames and efficient iterative tuning that delivers significant bitrate savings in CQ and VBR modes. It enhances decoding with per‑macroblock statistics, GOP‑aware frame‑accurate seek, and expanded MV‑HEVC stereoscopic metadata for third‑party compatibility. The transcoder pipeline is now modular, queue‑based, and supports zero‑copy transcode via shared CUarray buffers, lowering SM/memory bandwidth usage while increasing throughput and deployment simplicity with Docker.
