Ars Technica's article covers the newly released teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, the second Hunger Games prequel film adapted from Suzanne Collins' 2025 novel, which is set 24 years before the original Hunger Games movie and centers on Haymitch Abernathy (played by Joseph Zada) and his participation in the Second Quarter Quell. Since the 50th Games mark Panem's Second Quarter Quell — which takes place every 25 years — each district must send twice the amount of tributes to the Capitol. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on November 20, 2026.
