'Super ZSNES' is a stab at a modern SNES emulator from the original developers

Super ZSNES is a modern SNES emulator created by two of the original ZSNES developers, zsKnight and Demo, which has been rewritten from scratch as a GPU-powered successor. The emulator uses GPU acceleration to deliver enhanced features including far more accurate CPU and audio cores compared to the original, along with a GPU-powered PPU enabling hi-res Mode 7 and per-game enhancements. The Super Enhancement Engine allows developers to enhance games individually, with support currently implemented for 7 popular titles and more planned as development continues.
