Hermes Agent is an open-source, self-improving AI agent developed by Nous Research that features a built-in learning loop — it creates skills from experience, builds persistent memory across sessions, and grows more capable over time. It runs on a user's own infrastructure (local, Docker, SSH, or serverless backends) and integrates with 15+ messaging platforms including Telegram, Discord, Slack, and WhatsApp through a single gateway. The project, hosted on GitHub, supports any LLM backend (Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI, etc.) and includes capabilities such as natural language scheduling, isolated subagents, and trajectory export for reinforcement learning training.
