The Nintendo Switch's days are numbered—but what is that number?

Nintendo announced in July 2026 that it will discontinue sales of the Switch console family in Europe as of February 2027. This coincided with Nintendo announcing new Switch 2 versions with user-replaceable batteries to meet European right to repair regulations, though the discontinuation only affects Europe and Nintendo will continue distributing the Switch to other regions.
