These clever active beam headlights are finally coming to America

Adaptive driving beam (ADB) headlights use automatic headlight beam switching technology to shine less light on occupied areas of the road and more light on unoccupied areas. The U.S. has allowed automakers to install these headlights on new vehicles, which will improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists by making them more visible at night and help prevent crashes by better illuminating animals and objects in the road. Despite recent regulations, most automakers except Rivian cannot bring their adaptive headlight systems to the U.S. because federal law is too strict.
