Twelve companies including Anduril, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, and others have received contracts to develop space-based interceptor prototypes for Golden Dome , with awards worth up to $3.2 billion through flexible Other Transaction Authority agreements made in late 2025 and early 2026 . Prototypes are slated for demonstration and integration into the Golden Dome architecture by 2028 , though the program's leader has indicated the SBI concept may not make the final architecture if proven prohibitively costly .
