Toyota's Woven City is a $10 billion "living laboratory" where the company tests futuristic mobility technologies with real residents , located at a former factory site in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan near Mount Fuji . The city functions as a testing ground where designers and engineers test inventions with real people in real-time , and its initiatives include automated driving services, smart logistics, and remote communications . Phase one is set to welcome its first 100 residents in fall 2025 .
