Vaporware or not? Aptera assembles its first five validation models.

Aptera Motors announced that five validation vehicles have been driven off its newly established low-volume validation assembly line in Carlsbad, California in May 2026. Running multiple vehicles through the 14-station assembly line in sequence validates both the vehicle itself and the production system, with each successive build improving cycle times and refining workflows. The validation fleet will move through comprehensive testing covering road performance, durability, safety verification, software and firmware integration, and real-world solar energy collection.
