Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume is reportedly preparing a major overhaul that could eliminate up to 100,000 jobs worldwide and eventually close four factories in Germany. The plants targeted for closure are Hanover, Zwickau, and Emden, as well as Audi's factory in Neckarsulm, with production to end after current vehicle programs are phased out. The restructuring comes amid soaring energy costs and competition from China, which has pressured the company's profits in recent years.
