Why did I name my chief of staff Simon? Great question! - I wanted a name that was two syllables long, so it was fast enough to say but long enough that it was easier to hear. - I wanted a name that was very unlikely to be misspelled by Wispr Flow and Siri. - I wanted a name that, if I whispered it, my dictation tools could still pick it up. - I wanted a name that is not as common (ex: John, Sam, Sarah, Laura) so it’s less likely to come up in client meetings. - I wanted a name that is not (yet) on my team. If I were to hire a Simon, I would change the name of my Chief of Staff (likely to Pascal). - I wanted a name that didn't sound like something else, and although 'Simon' sounds a little bit like 'assignment', it hasn't been an issue thus far. - I was going to name it something funny like Waffle, but then realized I probably wouldn't listen to its advice as openly.
