YouTube is automatically applying AI-generated content labels if it detects a video includes "significant photorealistic AI use," while making labels more prominent by displaying them directly below the video player for long-form videos and as overlays on YouTube Shorts. Creators will still be required to manually disclose when they use realistic AI, though they can modify the disclosure status using the YouTube Studio tool if they believe content was incorrectly flagged.
