Four ways Google Research scientists have been using Empirical Research Assistance

Google Research scientists have demonstrated applications of Empirical Research Assistance across diverse scientific domains, with the system generating novel, testable hypotheses across scientific and biomedical fields, some already validated experimentally. Examples include using the system to predict drug repurposing opportunities, notably proposing novel candidates for acute myeloid leukemia that were subsequently validated through experiments. The system has also been applied to target discovery research, such as identifying epigenetic targets for liver fibrosis with demonstrated anti-fibrotic activity in human tissue cultures.
